We spent a week in Wisconsin in early June for our niece's high school graduation party and to visit family. It was Adeline's first trip. Oliver loves trips and Adeline was a good traveler as well.

Summer 2016 has begun!
It was the most perfect morning so Oliver and I sat out on the deck having brunch and playing fighter planes. Joe and Adeline came out. Before long we were playing at the water table and splash mat. The afternoon flew by. I just put Adeline down for a nap and the boys are snuggled on the couch with a video. I hope this is the start of a great summer!

Adeline is Six Months Old
Our smiley and inquisitive baby girl is six months old today. We think she has been working hard all week to cut her first tooth. Although she was sleeping through the night, teething has made the nights a little less restful for everyone this week. Otherwise, she is a happy easygoing baby.

The Start of Summer Fun
We have enjoyed the first couple of summer weekends. And so far, we are off to a great start! After an entire summer last year of Oliver refusing to wear shorts, he has now embraced them and ever spent a couple hours shirtless on a hot afternoon. Nice to see him letting loose and having fun!

Our Young Reader
Oliver is really improving with his reading skills and gaining confidence with it, which is great to see. Our friends from Seattle are in town this weekend and Oliver read one of his "advanced beginners" Bob books with Arlo and I listening. At night I can hear him sounding out the words on his wall art in his room and he now picks up books and will sound out the titles on his own.
