Big Brother - Little Sister

I am amazed with how much Oliver has taken his role of big brother to heart already.  He takes it upon himself to teach her, comfort her and watch out for her.  Adeline adores her brother and watches his every move.  She giggles at his silly efforts to cheer her, listens to his lessons, and craves his attention.  I never had a vision for what their relationship might look like.  But, I hope that some of the genuine care and sweetness between them remains through the years as their relationship evolves.  

First tooth

After a couple months of off and on efforts, Adeline popped her first tooth with little effort at the end.  Woke up this morning and there it was, her right lower front tooth peeking out.

This marks the end of that perfect gummy baby smile.  It was adorable while it lasted!

July 4th

July 4th was not great in DC this year.  It rained all day, Joe worked most of the day, and we ended up in urgent care because Oliver had a bad ear infection.  Fortunately, we had a last minute cookout with some of our neighbors on the Saturday before and even pulled out the sparklers for the kids.  Oliver's ear is now on the mend so all is well.
